অনেক সময় বাংলায় Present Continuous form হলেও ইংরেজিতে Present Indefinite Tense হয়। যেমন—
| আমি ক্লান্ত বোধ করছি। | I feel tired. [I am feeling tired—হয় না। ] |
Note: State Verb-এর Continuous Tense হয় না বলে Indefinite Tense হয়।
অনেক সময় অদূর ভবিষ্যৎসূচক ক্রিয়া থাকলে Future Indefinite OR Present Continuous হয়। যেমন—
| সে আগামীকাল এখানে আসবে। | He will come here tomorrow. [Or] He is coming here tomorrow. |
| তুমি কি আগামীকাল কলকাতায় যাবে? | Will you go to Kolkata tomorrow? [Or] Are you going to Kolkata tomorrow? |
বাক্যে যদি অতীতের কোনো দিন বা তারিখের উল্লেখ থাকে তাহলে Present Perfect না হয়ে Past Indefinite Tense হয়। যেমন—
| সে গতকাল বাড়ি গিয়েছে৷ | He went home yesterday. [He has gone home yesterday –হয় না ৷ ] |
| রবীন গত রবিবার এখানে এসেছে। |
Rabin came here on Sunday last. [Rabin has come here on Sunday last— হয় না ৷ ] |
