উঃ গলনাঙ্ক: কোন নির্দিষ্ট চাপে যে উষ্ণতায় কোন কঠিন পদার্থ গলে তরলে পরিণত হয়, সেই উষ্ণতাকে ওই চাপে ওই পদার্থের গলনাঙ্ক বলে। হিমাঙ্ক: কোন নির্দিষ্ট চাপে যে উষ্ণতায় কোন তরল পদার্থ জমে কঠিনে পরিণত হয়, সেই উষ্ণতাকে ওই চাপে ওই পদার্থের হিমাঙ্ক বলে।
