If you are sure the xml doesn't contain anything wrong. What you can do is:
1. create a new design (not duplicate)
2. copy the content of the old design and paste it inside the new one (make sure u don't miss anything)
3. delete the old design
4. Rename new design with the old design name
5. deploy and test
