An eclipse is the phenomenon of a celestial object, such as the Moon, passing through the shadow of another celestial object, such as the Earth. There are two main types of eclipses: solar eclipses, where the Moon blocks the Sun, and lunar eclipses, where the Earth blocks the sunlight reaching the Moon.
