কুরআন হাদিসে মা বাবার অধিকারের ব্যাপারে এতো অধিক সংখ্যক বর্ণনা এসেছে যে তার সবগুলো বর্ণনা করতে গেলে একটি বিশাল বই হয়ে যাবে। তাই তার মধ্য থেকে কিছুসংখ্যক বর্ণনা উল্লেখ করা হল যেন আমরা বুঝতে পারি মা বাবার হক কতো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
পশ্চিমাদের তৈরি মেকি “মা দিবস” পালন না করে ইসলাম মা বাবার হকের প্রতি কি বলে আসুন তা একটু দেখিঃ
15. We have enjoined upon man kindness to his parents. His mother carried him with difficulty, and delivered him with difficulty. His bearing and weaning takes thirty months. Until, when he has attained his maturity, and has reached forty years, he says, "Lord, enable me to appreciate the blessings You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to act with righteousness, pleasing You. And improve my children for me. I have sincerely repented to You, and I am of those who have surrendered."
15. আর আমরা মানুষকে তার মাতাপিতার সম্পর্কে ভাল ব্যবহারের নির্দেশ দিয়েছি। তার মাতা কষ্ট করে তাকে গর্ভে ধারণ করেছিলেন আর কষ্ট করে তাকে জন্ম দিয়েছিলেন। আর তাকে গর্ভে ধারণ করতে ও তার লালন-পালনে লেগেছিল ত্রিশটি মাস। তারপর সে যখন তার যৌবনে পৌঁছে এবং চল্লিশ বছরে পৌঁছে যায় তখন সে বলে -- ''আমার প্রভু! তুমি আমাকে জাগরিত করো যেন আমি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাতে পারি তোমার সেই অনুগ্রহের জন্য যা তুমি অর্পণ করেছ আমার উপরে ও আমার মাতাপিতার উপরে, আর যেন আমি সৎকর্ম করতে পারি যা তোমাকে খুশি করে, আর আমার প্রতি কল্যাণ করো আমার সন্তানসন্ততিদের সম্পর্কে। আমি অবশ্যই তোমার দিকে ফিরেছি, আর আমি নিশ্চয় মুসলিমদের মধ্যেকার।’’
23. Your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him, and that you be good to your parents. If either of them or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them a word of disrespect, nor scold them, but say to them kind words.
24. And lower to them the wing of humility, out of mercy, and say, "My Lord, have mercy on them, as they raised me when I was a child."
8. We have advised the human being to be good to his parents. But if they urge you to associate with Me something you have no knowledge of, do not obey them. To Me is your return; and I will inform you of what you used to do.
14. We have entrusted the human being with the care of his parents. His mother carried him through hardship upon hardship, weaning him in two years. So give thanks to Me, and to your parents. To Me is the destination.
15. But if they strive to have you associate with Me something of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. But keep them company in this life, in kindness, and follow the path of him who turns to Me. Then to Me is your return; and I will inform you of what you used to do.
151. Say, "Come, let me tell you what your Lord has forbidden you: that you associate nothing with Him; that you honor your parents; that you do not kill your children because of poverty—We provide for you and for them; that you do not come near indecencies, whether outward or inward; and that you do not kill the soul which Allah has sanctified—except in the course of justice. All this He has enjoined upon you, so that you may understand."
36. Worship Allah, and ascribe no partners to Him, and be good to the parents, and the relatives, and the orphans, and the poor, and the neighbor next door, and the distant neighbor, and the close associate, and the traveler, and your servants. Allah does not love the arrogant showoff.
36. আর আল্লাহ্র এবাদত করো, আর তাঁর সাথে অন্য কিছু শরিক করো না, আর পিতামাতার প্রতি সদয় আচরণ করো, আর নিকটাত্মীয়দের প্রতি, আর এতীমদের আর মিসকিনদের, আর নিকট সম্পর্কের প্রতিবেশীর, আর পরকীয় প্রতিবেশীর, আর পার্শ্ববর্তী সাথীর, আর পথচারীর, আর যাকে তোমাদের ডান হাত ধরে রেখেছে। নিঃসন্দেহ আল্লাহ্ ভালোবাসেন না তাকে যে দাম্ভিক, গর্বিত, --
37. যে কার্পণ্য করে আর লোকদের কৃপণতার নির্দেশ দেয়, আর লুকিয়ে রাখে আল্লাহ্ যা তাদের দিয়েছেন তাঁর করুনাভান্ডার থেকে। আর অবিশ্বাসীদের জন্যে আমরা তৈরি করেছি লাঞ্ঝনাদায়ক শাস্তি, --
38. আর যারা তাদের ধনসম্পত্তি খরচ করে লোকদের দেখাবার জন্য, অথচ তারা বিশ্বাস করে না আল্লাহ্তে, আর আখেরাতের দিনেও না। আর যার জন্য সঙ্গী হয়েছে শয়তান, -- সে তবে মন্দ সাথী।

বিঃদ্রঃ পিতামাতা আল্লাহ্র হুকুমের বিপরীত কোন কাজ করতে হুকুম করলে সেক্ষেত্রে তাদেরকে মানা যাবে না। তবে এক্ষেত্রেও ভদ্রতার সাথে তাদের হুকুমকে এড়িয়ে যেতে হবে। কিছুতেই বাজে ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।
মহান আল্লাহ্ আমাদেরকে মাতা-পিতার খেদমত করে জান্নাত কামাই করার তাওফিক দান করুন। আমিন।
