This item tests the candidate’s knowledge of setting trial balance options. The Selection option enables features in trial balance data in multiple combinations and is an important feature of the general ledger module.
A dimension set is an ordered list of financial dimensions that can be used to summarize the general ledger data in a user-defined way. A primary use of dimension sets is to define a trial balance. Account structures use the main account and financial dimensions to create a set of rules that determine the order and values used when entering the account number. The account structures are assigned to a company’s ledger setup. Account structures cannot be selected to calculate the trial balance. You can use financial dimensions to create account segments for a chart of accounts. A dimension cannot be selected to calculate trial balance. A chart of accounts is the base for creating the trial balance, but it cannot be selected while calculating trial balance.
