World wildlife day
● Every year on 3 March 'World Wildlife Day' is celebrated all over the world.
● This day is celebrated to spread awareness about the importance of conservation of wildlife.
● On December 20, 2013, the United Nations General Assembly decided to celebrate March 3 as World Wildlife Day.
● The United Nations had declared in its resolution that World Wildlife Day would be dedicated to making common people aware of the changing nature of the world and the threats arising on flora and fauna due to human activities.
● On March 3, 1973, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) was adopted.
● The theme of World Wildlife Day for 2023 is – “Partnership for Wildlife Conservation”.
