⬧ National Vaccination Day aims to raise awareness that vaccination is the most effective way to prevent highly infectious diseases.
⬧ National Vaccination Day is celebrated to commemorate the 'Pulse Polio Campaign' of the Government of India, which was a remarkable initiative to eradicate polio from India.
⬧ Under this campaign, two drops of polio vaccine are provided to children under the age of 5 years.
⬧ The Pulse Polio campaign in India became a huge success, as the World Health Organization declared India a 'polio-free country' in 2014.
