⬧World Consumer Rights Day is observed every year on 15 March to raise global awareness on consumer rights, protection and empowerment of the consumer movement and other influential participants.
⬧This year the theme of World Consumer Rights Day is 'Empowering Consumers through Clean Energy Transitions'.
⬧The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 has been enacted in the country to protect the interests of the consumers.
⬧To protect the interests of the consumers, there are more than 500 District Consumer Forums across the country and one State Consumer Commission in each State, while the National Consumer Commission is located in New Delhi.
⬧Every year on 24 December 'National Consumer Day' is celebrated in India.
